Pulaski, WI - September 4, 2008 - The Genmar Yacht Group, makers of Carver Yachts, recently unveiled its newest model - the Carver 44 Sojourn. A unique type of yacht for people who enjoy sharing their time on the water with family and friends, the 44 Sojourn is hand-crafted by the Carver Yachts engineering team to combine the attributes of the Volvo IPS joystick control drive system, excellent efficiency and superb close quarter maneuverability along with the spacious design of the exterior and interior layout.
"Carver has earned the reputation for building the best family cruising boats on the water, and the 44 Sojourn is no exception. The hull and deck lines are designed to accommodate efficient utilization of space as a high priority, which is strikingly different than any other boat in its class," stated Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Brad Andress.
The yacht's overall length 44'4" and beam of 13' 11" enabled the designers to incorporate a sizable transom platform complete with a storage compartment. The boat's foredeck is safe and secure due to extra wide stainless steel handrails and no step to trip over between the swim platform and cockpit. Based upon European inspiration the salon has various types of furnished hardwoods to provide a warm contemporary atmosphere.
Being the most spacious bridge out of any boat its size, the Sojourn allows seating for 12 guests. It also includes a comfortable sun lounge, wet bar, refrigerator and grill for an entertaining environment. The helm is designed to feature an array of high-tech instruments. The aluminum arch and integral hardtop serve as support for the enclosure.
Other features include sleeping accommodations for six, two staterooms, single level interior floor plan, contemporary wood interior, numerous salon level hull windows, fully furnished galley, dinette that converts to a double berth and an impressive entertainment system with standard Apple® iPod Dock in Salon and Sirius® satellite radio.
The 44 Sojourn was on display for the first time at the Michigan City Boat Show where people were able to see first hand the entirely new and unique yacht. Recently it made an appearance at the 2009 Carver Dealer Conference. For more information about the Carver 44 Sojourn please visit the Carver Yachts web site.
